Wow, a T100. I remember when Toyota first advertised those as they tried to get into the full size market. They were laughed at for a long time, even though they were good trucks.

Very handsome machines, they.

My dad replaced his 1979 Blazer with a 1995 T-100 which was the first year for the extended cab. He ordered it some metallic red with gray interior. His friend heard about it and went to the dealer and ordered one the same way. Funny thing is my dad’s showed up with a tan interior and his friend’s fell off the boat or train at some point on the way over from Japan. His showed up a while later with the gray interior he wanted. The tan actually looked a lot nicer.
Then not long after the truck was paid off, a kid down the street in a C4 Corvette hit it. The truck was hit in the rear passenger side. The Corvette got under it, rotated it 90 degrees onto the neighbors lawn, knocked the rear axle so that the passenger side wheel was rotated forward towards the front, which caused the drive shaft to bend up and buckle up the floor... The whole truck was bent in half. Both cars were totaled. I’ll have to find pictures.

Out of the names Mitsubishi gave these cars, Montero and Pajero I think the name they gave the U.K. ones were the best, the Mitsubishi Shogun.

the GM minivan coming into view?

You know why they renamed the models sold outside of the Asian market, right? In Spanish, “pajero” is slang for “one who indulges is self-pleasure”

Ye’, I knew that.
Interesting that the U.K. got it’s own name for the car.
Maybe Montero was too close to the Austin Montego name.

But what are you driving? What is up with that Dashboard/center stack?

What you are looking at is all the 80s goodness of a 1989 Corvette. I guess if it wasn’t my daily driver it would be a third thing you don’t see much of anymore.

I guess they are pretty old now... But still surprisingly common.

And guess what I saw just now within one hour while running errands...
It’s the GTA effect.

Now I challenge you to find a dustbuster van.

These are some of those vehicles that just won’t die; same applies to the Cavalier and the sixth gen Honda Accord.

I actually did see one on the same trip. Pontiac variant, green with beige lower cladding. It was of the later face lift style. I swear. Didn’t take a picture cause I was on a Venture style hunt. Can’t find it on street view for the life of me. I did see this one a few weeks ago though.
And this one over the summer.

Wow, haven’t seen one of those in at least two years. The minivan driving rednecks around me drive Windstars.

Had a 1997 Cavalier handed down to me for a few years. It wasn’t great but I miss it sometimes. I drove it hard and it just wouldn’t die. It was even hit a couple times in the same spot, and each time insurance paid more than it cost to fix. We called it the money maker.

I actually went past and got a picture this morning to prove I’m not lying/I’m crazy depending how you look at it.
